About the Ibizan Hound

The Ibizan Hound, known as 'Beezer' by enthusiasts, is an elegant, deer-like sighthound from the Balearic island of Ibiza off Spain's coast. With their large, upright ears, amber eyes, and lithe build, they resemble the jackal god Anubis of ancient Egypt. Ibizan Hounds are unique among sighthounds in that they use sight, scent, and hearing equally while hunting โ€” making them true all-sense hunters. They are athletic, agile dogs capable of remarkable vertical leaps, known to clear 5-foot fences from a standstill. Despite their athletic prowess, they are gentle, even-tempered, and polite house dogs.
